Everyone has his or her unique talents to share. Everyone is encouraged to become involved in one or more of the ministry teams serving the Church and the Community. S.O.S. Soup Kitchen

S.O.S. Soup Kitchen
Our Lord’s is a member of the Soup Kitchen Coalition, which serves a meal every Tuesday and Thursday to those in our community who need a nutritious meal and fellowship. We serve bimonthly, alternating the serving site, on Tuesdays at First United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Church, Collinsville,  and on Thursdays at St. John Evangelical United Church of Christ, 307 W. Clay St., Collinsville. S.O.S. Soup Kitchen has been serving meals since June 2012 and served 35,913 meals in the first 6 years!

God's Work, Our Hands

God’s Work, Our Hands is a ELCA initiative for member congregations to do one day of service. Our Lord’s has embraced this idea and seeks to assist others in meaningful ways as need arises.

Elmwood Project

Elmwood Project
Each year Our Lord’s celebrates Christmas morning by bringing gifts to our neighbors at Elmwood Nursing Home. What once began as ‘Christmas with our Neighbors’ has grown to a year-long ministry. Today the Elmwood Project includes helping bring activities and joy to the residents including transportation to and from church, visiting residents, and playing bingo.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s

Walk to End Alzheimer’s

Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Alzheimer’s disease is the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States. Each year Our Lord’s walks to raise funds to End Alzheimers.

Prison Reading Project

Prison Reading Project

Since 2000, Our Lord’s assists with the Storybook Project at the Southwestern Illinois Correctional Center in East St. Louis. This ministry allows inmates at SWICC the opportunity to maintain contact with their children while incarcerated through reading appropriate books to their children.

Maryville Outreach

Maryville Outreach

Our Lord’s has been a supporting congregation of the Maryville Outreach since its inception. The Maryville Outreach Center houses the Maryville Food Pantry, Grandma’s Attic (resale store), and the Resident’s Assistance Program.

LuMin is a network of inclusive faith communities on and near campuses celebrating God’s love and grace at over 240 colleges and universities across the country. Rooted in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), LuMin celebrates partnerships with other traditions and welcomes people from a variety of faith backgrounds.
