Getting to Know Us
Statement from Church Council President – Tom Steinmann
In January of 2018, I was elected Council President at Our Lord’s Lutheran Church. I consider it both an honor and a tremendous responsibility to serve the members of our congregation. My wife Anita, and I, joined OLLC in 2002. We knew immediately upon our first visit that Our Lord’s was a special place with wonderful people. Our first daughter Marian was born in 2003 and our second daughter Josie was born in 2006. All four of us enjoy worshiping and interacting with our church family at Our Lord’s Lutheran Church.
Our Lord’s Lutheran Church celebrated 50 years of ministry in 2017. As a congregation of welcoming and caring people, Our Lord’s strives to be messengers of the Gospel in Maryville, Illinois, and the surrounding communities. We are currently seeking a committed and energetic full-time pastor to lead us forward on our continuing journey to fulfill Our Lord’s mission “Called to Share Christ’s Love with All.”
PASTOR
Pastor Darla Ann R. Kratzer came to Our Lord’s in June of 2019. Before moving to Maryville, she served as a pastor in congregations in northeastern Ohio for twenty-one years. She is a graduate of Bethany College (Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry), The Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago (Master of Divinity), and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary (Doctor of Ministry).
She thoroughly enjoys working with children, teenagers, and their parents. Two additional ministry areas that she is passionate about are caring for the hungry and building relationships with people of other faith traditions so that we might better serve our neighbors, the stranger, and all who are in need of God’s gracious love.
She was the developer and coordinator for the annual Stark Hunger Walk in which multiple faith groups spent an afternoon working together to raise funds for the Akron Canton Regional Food Bank. In her leisure time, Pastor Kratzer enjoys bicycling, line dancing, and cardio kickboxing.
MINISTRY LEADERS
Our Lord’s utilizes a Ministry Team model of governance. At its heart is a large set of Ministry Teams that accomplish the primary work of the congregation. These Ministry Teams are coordinated/assisted by the members of the Steering Team which is appointed by an elected Church Council.
The Council’s primary duty is to focus on the fulfillment of the congregation’s vision to “Share Christ’s Love with All” and by overseeing all the administrative and financial duties for the church.

STEERING TEAM
The Steering Team supports the many ministries of the congregation in the areas of Worship, Service, Education, and Fellowship. Members are encouraged to participate in one or more of the many Ministry Teams we currently have or turn a passion into action by starting a new Ministry Team that is of interest to them.
